Justin Fan Fiction

Never Again

By Ashley

Chapter 1

At twenty-four, his life should have been all figured out. He could have just been getting out of college, and starting any career he had wanted, but he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. He had money sure, but he had found out the hard way that money doesn't buy happiness. The passion he had once had for life had faded. The people who meant most to him still did, but they had moved on with their lives, and he was expected to do the same, but his lost life was all that he seemed to find.

His cell phone rang shrilly in his pocket, startling him from his thoughts, the only other person close to him in the park was a woman who glared at him as his phone rang once more. He hurried to answer it.
"Hello?" He said quietly into the phone as the woman moved away, he sighed when he heard her voice on the other end. "Listen, I've told you, it's over. I know your going to cry, but we've been through this. I don't know what I want in my life right now, but it's NOT you. I'm sorry." He hung the phone up before he had a chance to consider if he really was sorry.

While running his hand through his brown curls, he felt someone's eyes on him, and he looked up to find a woman staring at him curiously, but when she saw him turn, she quickly turned away. But if he didn't know better, he thought he caught a glimpse of recognition in her blue eyes.
"Hi." He said, moving across the path to where she was watching as kids across the park were playing on the play ground equipment.
"Hi." She answered cooly.
"Do I know you?" he asked her, almost feeling something familiar about this woman, with the ice blue eyes, and long blond hair.
She gave him a cool glance with those eyes, "No." She answered in an icy tone.
"My name's Justin." He said. Suddenly he wondered what he was doing, he hadn't intended to just walk up and introduce himself to her, but that's what he found himself doing.
"I know who you are." She said in the same tone, but that was all.
"Okay." He drawled, "maybe the next thing to do would introduce yourself. That's usually the polite thing to do."
"It's not polite to just walk up and talk to people who don't want to talk to you."
"Well it's not polite to stare either." Justin told her.
At that, the girl's head shot up, and he thought he could see a slight touch of red come to her face. "I was staring, because everyone in this park heard your phone conversation; so excuse me for staring."
Now it was Justin's turn to be embarrassed, he hadn't realized that his conversation had carried through the park, but then he supposed it shouldn't surprise him, he usually ended up yelling when he talked to her.

"Aunt Alyssa!!!" A yell came from the playground, and two little girls were running toward them. Well, more like one girl running, and dragging the smaller one along as she pulled her arm.
"What is it Meghan?" the girl who's name was now Alyssa asked, as she moved away from Justin towards the two girls.
"That boy is being mean to us!!" The girl complained, as Alyssa picked up the younger girl who looked about two, and listened to the other little girl, about six or seven as she talked, then the girls mouth dropped open as she looked past Alyssa and saw Justin standing there.
"Your Justin Timberlake!" She said in an awed whisper.
Justin hadn't been recognized for a long time, and to have this young girl react like that was slightly embarrassing, but at the same time, he remembered how his life had been before, and something inside him wished he still had that.
"You are him, aren't your?" Justin realized that as he had been remembering, the Meghan had moved closer to him, and now was the one asking the question.
"Well that's who I used to be." Justin answered, squatting down to see eye to eye with the little girl, she had after all, given him, her 'Aunt Alyssa's' name.
The girl giggled at his answer, "Aren't you STILL Justin Timberlake?"
To be honest, Justin wasn't sure who he was anymore, but he didn't figure that Meghan would understand that. "Yeah, I'm still Justin Timberlake. But how do you know who I am? Aren't you too young for Nsync?"
"No." Meghan shook her head quickly back and fourth, "My Aunt Alyssa LOVE's Nsync." The girl paused for a minute, ignoring her aunts protests. "Well, she did love Nsync, until you stopped singing."
"Meghan!!" Came the ice cold voice of the girl's aunt. Justin had a hard time believing the little girls confession of Alyssa 'LOVING' Nsync at her tone.
"What Aunt Alyssa?" The girl turned to her aunt, oblivious to doing anything wrong.
"Meghan, we need to go. The bus will be here soon." Alyssa told her, doing a perfect job of ignoring Justin, but she didn't notice the bus pulling away from the corner right then.
"It seems the bus is on time for once, even early, and your not going to catch it today." He told her, receiving a glare from Alyssa, that assured him he was to be held responsible for her missing the bus.
But the look on Alyssa's face soon turned to distress as the little girl, who Justin hadn't yet learned her name, started to cry.
"Nicole knows that the bus takes us to Mommy." Meghan informed the confused Justin at the toddlers sudden crying.
"I could give you a ride." Justin volunteered.
"We'll be fine." Alyssa told him in a dismissing tone as she tried to calm Nicole.
Meghan, on the other hand, quite liked the idea, "Will you?"
"I really could." Justin told Alyssa earnestly.
"You don't have to do anything for us, Mr. Timberlake." She replied in the same Ice Queen tone she had used since he had first seen her. Maybe he had been wrong in thinking he had seen something in her that made him want to get to know her more.
But her final statement made him snap, "I'm not doing this for YOU, I'm doing it for this little girl who wants her mama, and this Meghan who happens to be a lot more friendlier than her Aunt." Justin took Nicole from Alyssa's arms, as she stood in stunned silence.
He bounced the little girl in his arms a few times until she giggled, then he took Meghan's hand and led them towards his car. Finally, he turned back to Alyssa, "Are you coming? I'm not in the mood to be charged with kidnapping today."
Alyssa finally gave in and followed him towards the bright red car. She ended up sitting in the back seat with Nicole, while Meghan sat up front, happily chatting with Justin.

Alyssa looked out the window, refusing to look anywhere but outside, where people were free. How could he be so arrogant! Turning Meghan and even Nicole against her like that. He just assumed that everyone had always loved his voice, and his curly hair, and his blue eyes and his perfect smile. . .Alyssa stopped her train of thought, she was NOT going to like him. She knew that he was one of those guys who think they are so great, and can make women anywhere fall all over them, but she wasn't going to fall for Justin Timberlake...Again.

Suddenly Alyssa realized that Justin was talking to her, "Huh?" She asked, refusing to meet his blue eyes in the rear-view mirror.
"I asked what you do besides baby-sitting your two adorable nieces?" He asked charmingly.
Not falling for that!!!
"I'm a teacher." She answered quietly.
"Really?" He asked with what sounded like genuine interest. "What do you teach?"
"She's a writing teacher!" Meghan volunteered happily.
"An English teacher?" He asked confused.
"No! A writing teacher." Meghan told him in an all knowing tone.
"I teach Creative Writing at Adams High School." Alyssa told him at his questioning glance.
"She's really good at telling stories. She is always telling me stories about Ashley and Lance, and-"
"Who?" Justin asked her.
The ten year old gave an exasperated sigh, "Ashley is a singer, and she likes Lance-"
"Meghan." Alyssa tried to stop her, but Meghan had become very good at ignoring her aunt.
"And then Chris likes Danielle, and Joey likes Kelly, and...JC likes..." She paused remembering the name.
"Maitlyn." Alyssa told her before slapping a hand over her own mouth, she didn't want to give Justin any information about her OR her stories.
"Yeah. JC and Maitlyn, and Justin and Britney." Meghan concluded.
"Nsync?" Justin asked her.
"Yeah. Duh." The girl replied with a giggle.
Then he eyed Alyssa in the mirror, "You write Fan Fiction?"
"Uh-huh." Meghan answered for her with an energetic nod, "And she's really good. But she never talks about it with people, 'cause she's really shy. Mama. . . she's Aunt Alyssa's sister, she says Alyssa needs to learn to get over being shy. But she doesn't. I've never been shy." Meghan finished.
"Neither have I.." Justin told her with a smile, he really like this little girls energetic talking, and her complete ignorance of the tension in the car...And Maybe a certain Aunt Alyssa.
"Turn left here." Alyssa told Justin, and he followed her direction, before tuning back to Meghan.
"So, what are these stories about?"
"Ashley, she's my favorite, she wants to be a singer, and Justin, that's you, writes her first song. But in the story, you like Britney, most of the time, sometimes you don't."
"Why not?"
"Because you kissed that other girl." Meghan told him, "I think her name was..."
"Jenna." Justin stated. Fan FICTION? A slight understatement in this case.
"Yeah, Jenna. I don't like Jenna, cause I really like Britney too, like Aunt Alyssa does. She used to like both Nsync and Britney Spears."
"What happens to Ashley?" Justin asked, avoiding the Britney subject.
"Um...Well, she marries Lance. But she kissed Justin, but that's in the last story, after she married Lance."
"Okay!" Alyssa broke in, "Enough stories. They're house is right up here on the left."
"Home!" Came Nicole's first word in the conversation.

Alyssa helped the two girls out, and walked them up to the porch of the house, as Justin watched, he had to give a small laugh at Meghan's telling of Alyssa's stories, she obviously hadn't been telling them right, but Fan Fiction had always interested him, maybe he could get the story out of Alyssa.

Justin's gaze clouded over as he saw the man on the front porch apparently yelling at Alyssa and pointing towards Justin's car, she shook her head, and said something back, pointing to the house where the two girls had disappeared. Finally Alyssa shook her head and walked away, leaving the man to talk to her back.
She slid into the front seat of Justin's car, "Are you taking me home too? Or do I have to walk?"
"I've come this far, I should probably take you home too." Justin said pulling out of the driveway. "Who was that-"
"My Brother in Law." Alyssa answered in the tone he had grown used to, but at least this time it wasn't directed at him. Possible improvement.
"Okay, you don't want to talk about him. How about your stories, Meghan seemed to be interested in them. I would really like to hear about this Ashley and Lance, Justin triangle."
"She wasn't telling it right."
"Then maybe you could clear it up for me. I mean, Ashley kissing Justin after she and Lance are married? Sounds kinda'"
"That's NOT what happened." Alyssa defended her stories. "Ashley loves Lance. She didn't kiss Justin after she was married. In the story Meghan was telling you about, Ashley is telling about when she met Britney."
"Spears I presume?"
"Spears." Alyssa nodded.
"Why would Ashley want to meet Britney Spears?"
"Why wouldn't she?"
Oh I could think of a couple reasons, but better not mention them right now. "I don't know, you tell me."
Alyssa watched the trees outside go by as she talked, "Because, as Meghan would tell you, Britney needed a friend, so she wouldn't be sad."
"Why would Britney be sad?"
"I don't know, you tell me."
I hate when your words get thrown back at you. Especially in that tone.
"Because Justin cheated on her?" Justin guessed.
Alyssa gave a small giggle, "That's not until that third story. But no, everybody needs a friend, even Britney Spears." She sighed, "What Meghan was trying to tell you is that Ashley used to like Justin, but she would never take Justin away from Britney. They are meant to be together."
Justin coughed nervously, "You made this up, right?"
"Maybe." Alyssa shrugged.
"What happens?" Justin asked, curious despite the circumstances.
"Justin finds out, and HE kisses Ashley. But that's way before she even meets Lance."
"After she's a singer?"
"No, she is a singer later." Alyssa was quite for a minute, then she surprised Justin by saying one more thing, "She loves music. It changed her life."
"Are you Ashley?" Justin asked before he could stop himself.
Alyssa didn't reply for a few minutes, and Justin wondered if the subject was closed. But she surprised him once again by answering.
"I'm a lot like Ashley, I guess. Turn Right." She instructed, and Justin decided he would have to get more information about 'Ashley' from Meghan, who seemed willing to tell him anything.

Almost exactly an hour after Justin had dropped Alyssa off at her apartment, the doorbell rang, and she pulled the door open to find a delivery man hidden behind a vase full of red roses.
After insisting to the deliveryman that they couldn't be for her, Alyssa finally accepted the roses, and shut the door in his face, before pulling the card out of the roses.

"I'm sorry I acted the way I did this afternoon, I hope there are no hurt feelings.
Maybe I'll see you again 'Ashley'
~J"

"Who was at the door?" Came Alyssa's best friend and room mate's voice from the hall.
"No one." Alyssa answered, but Skye came out to the living room anyway.
"Oh flowers!" She squealed. "Who are they from?"
"No one." Alyssa answered again.
Skye sighed, "You CAN'T get flowers from no one Alyssa. But if you don't want to tell me, I won't make you. . .Yet."
Alyssa laughed at her friend, "Thank's Skye."
"One question."
"Okay, One Question." Alyssa agreed.
"It's he the one who brought you home this afternoon?"
"Yes Skye, he is." Alyssa admitted.
"What is he like?"
"You said one question." Alyssa said, passing the flowers into Skyes's hands, and moving to the kitchen.
"You know I didn't mean it!" Skies insisted, setting the flowers on the counter. "What is he like?"
"He's rude, and conceited, and selfish. And I DON'T like him!" Alyssa told her friend, sitting down on one of the bar stools at the counter, in front of a stack of ungraded school papers.
"Oh, well...I don't think he's THAT bad if he sends flowers." Skies told Alyssa. "And Alyssa, It's Friday, leave the papers at school! Haven't I taught you ANYTHING?"

Skies knew that though Alyssa said this mysterious guy was rude, and so on, she thought she heard a self convincing tone in what Alyssa had told her. Skies knew that Alyssa had been hurt before by letting herself love someone too much, and Alyssa wasn't going to let that happen to her again. Skies hoped Alyssa wouldn't scare every guy away before they got a chance to see who she really was, and before Alyssa had a chance to trust someone again.

"I'm going to put these flowers in your room." Skies told Alyssa, seeing that she wasn't going to do anything about the roses.
"Whatever." Alyssa shrugged without looking up from the paper she was correcting, but Skies knew she was also thinking of the dried single red rose sitting on her bed side table.

Saturday Alyssa woke up late, Skies was gone, and she had already finished correcting all her papers for Monday, so she pulled out her lap top to continue writing her latest story. But every time she started to write, she pictured Justin yesterday in the park. He was so DIFFERENT than she had written. He almost seemed like the Justin from her old 'Ashley' stories, but then, she knew that the real Justin Timberlake wasn't like that.

So then why did he ACT like that?

Alyssa finally gave up on writing, and traded her lap top for a book, and that's what Skies found her doing when she came home a half hour later.

In Skye's arms were bags and packages, proving that the girl had been shopping once again. "A little help here, Alyssa?" She asked as she struggled with the door.
"What is all this?" Alyssa asked as she held the door for her friend.
"Christmas presents!" Skye exclaimed excitedly, Christmas had always been her favorite holiday, and she tended to get a little too OVER excited about the holiday. "And speaking of Christmas, did our building manager decide to order us a doorman for the building?"
"What are you talking about Skye?" Alyssa asked confused. "We've never had a doorman."
Skye shrugged, dropping her bags in the doorway, "We do now." Then she pointed to the window, and Alyssa walked over to look down on the street in front of the building, and there, three floors down, was Justin Timberlake.

Alyssa sighed in frustration and ran out the door before Skye could say anything. At the front door Justin smiled at her through the glass as he opened the door for her.
"Good Morning Alyssa."
"I never TOLD you my name, so I don't call me that."
Justin gave a mock bow, "Then I shall call you Ashley. You did tell me that name. Good Morning, Miss Ashley."
"Ashley's not my name! And what are you doing here? Isn't their a law for impersonating a doorman or something."
"Actually I'm not impersonating." Justin corrected her with a smile. "I was hired by Mr. Davis this morning. He seemed quite thrilled to have a doorman."
"Wouldn't the tabloids LOVE to get a picture of this! Justin Timberlake sunk to doorman!" Alyssa quoted.
"Tisk, Tisk. A creative writing teacher, and that's the best you can come up with, Miss Ashley?" Justin shook his head in mock disapproval, "And besides, the tabloids have given up on me." He looked slightly thought full for a moment, then added, "Can't say I'm sorry about that though." Then he brightened.
"Would you like to go to dinner with me, Ashley?"
"NO!! And my name's NOT Ashley!" Alyssa yelled at him before turning around and opening her OWN door to get back into the building.
An old lady stood near by as she watched the little tiff with wide eyes, Justin turned pleasantly to her, "I think she likes me." He told the lady, who gave a scared look, and hurried on her way.

Sunday was quiet for Alyssa, no flowers, annoying doormen, and best of all, NO Justin Timberlake. Though she didn't know that Justin was talking to her friends, while she and Skye were happily playing games with Meghan and Nicole all afternoon. And most of the people that knew Alyssa, were more than interested in helping Justin get Alyssa to go out with him.
